Hershey is an honorary husky for now as Arctic Rescue Southwest is hoping to find a home, or breed-specific rescue placement for her. This wonderful girl was let down by her people. She was adopted from a local animal shelter, and then when her people were going to move, they decided to leave her behind. They took her to the animal shelter to leave her there, but didn't want to pay the $20 surrender fee, so instead they drove away and then left her on the side of the road. One of our members was driving by and picked her up, then got the story from animal control. This beautiful girl deserves a home that will love her forever and never abandon her again.
Hershey loves people more than anything. She just wants to always be with you and, while she doesn't know much in the way of training now, seems very eager to please. She is completely housetrained and loves to snuggle. She does ok on walks and would make a good running partner for short to mid distances. Hershey gets along well with other dogs, but gets a little overwhelmed in a "pack" type situation. Hershey did ok when intoduced to a cat, and it's possible she could learn to live with one, but she would need to be closely supervised and taught appropriate behavior.
Hershey is an excellent snuggle buddy for watching TV cuddling on the couch, or for keeping your feet warm in bed at night.
