I am Dante - a gentle, sweet, and dignified older kitty. I am well known to be very affectionate and appreciative of human attentiveness (not at all "clingy" or "needy"). I am calm and restful most of the time, but if a string or cord is wiggled in front of me, I love to trap the end under my paw, pick it up by mouth, and walk away. Soft brushing along my back and tummy is another favorite activity. I love my small, rectangular, rubber face scratcher: I hold it between my two front legs and rub my cheeks against the soft rubbery prongs. Ahhhhh, such a diligent self-soother I am! I like to sit on the window ledge and watch squirrels, birds, and leaves moving about outside. Come meet me in foster care at a time that's convenient for you and see what a nice boy I am. I LOVE being petted and if you are watching TV, reading, or talking with guests, I'll sit near by and enjoy the company. I am very popular with volunteers because of my great personality and handsome demeanor.  Since I have so much love and attention to give to any family who adopts me you won't need another cat!  I love having my human family members all to myself so I must be the only cat in my new family's household.  Don't worry I'll keep you warm in the winters and you won't be without companionship with me around!



I have diabetes that is well regulated and I do very well with one insulin injection a day - the shot is easy to administer.
