Sally SCAS the Dog needs a home

Once upon a time, Sally had a home with a "mom" who loved her dearly. When the woman lost her home, she moved from motel to motel, always taking her Sally along. But each time the motel owners found out about Sally, they immediately told the lady that she had to leave. Sally & her mom had nowhere to go, no one to turn to, and in desperation they began living in their car. But then the cold weather hit & the woman knew she had no choice but to surrender Sally to animal control.

After surrendering her beloved dog to the shelter, Sally’s mom just sat in her car and cried & cried over losing her best friend. Every day Sally would sit at the door of her kennel run, waiting hopefully for her owner to return. When a rescuer saw how sad this poor girl was, she decided that Sally deserved a chance to find a new home where she would be loved again.

Sally recently arrived at 11th Hour Rescue and she went immediately to a wonderful foster home. She was sad according to her foster mom, but less than 24 hours after her arrival Sally finally wagged her tail for the first time. Everything is new to her but she finally has some stability including a warm bed & people who are determined to find her the best home possible. Foster mom says that Sally loves to snuggle with her humans - she craves affection, to both give it and get it.

Upon arriving at her foster home, Sally jumped into the bathtub to enjoy a much-needed bath & spa treatment  - she now smells of coconut & is feeling a hundred times better after her long trip to NJ. Afterwards, she was ready for her photoshoot – you can see what a beautiful girl Sally is. She is adjusting so well to her new environment and has become quite attached to her foster mom in the short time they have been together.

Last night Sally slept peacefully in her crate in what was probably the most restful night she has had in a long time. Foster mom says she is quiet as well as calm – she walks nicely on a leash, too, and is housebroken.

Foster mom tells us that Sally is doing great & really getting used to life in NJ! She experienced her snowfall since arriving up north & as you can see in the video, she had so much fun running & rolling in the snow, making doggie snow angels. :) She takes treats very gently and she knows the Sit command. She recently met a young boy at an adoption event and she was very calm and sweet. She has so many wonderful traits – Sally is a true gem and we are searching for someone who will treasure her.

If you can give Sally the home she deserves, please fill out an application so that EHR can set up a meeting with her – be sure to ask for SALLY SCAS! Please help us write a happy ending for this sweet dog's story!
