Otis the Dog needs a home
To be considered for adopting a dog from Canine Lifeline, you must have an approved application must be on file. Please visit http://www.caninelifeline.org/adoption-process/ for more information about our adoption process and to submit an online application.
Otis and his brother Wishbone are 1 year-old Jack Russell Terrier/Beagle mix brothers who came to us from a rural county dog shelter after having been rescued from a deplorable situation. Someone in a rural area had many dogs who were living in small dilapidated sheds or rabbit-hutch type outdoor dwellings. Fortunately, the shelter convinced the owner to relinquish some of the dogs so they would have a chance at a happy life. In spite of having come from horrible living conditions, Otis and Wishbone are happy, friendly dogs who are very grateful for the second chance they’ve been given. They may be a little shy at first meeting new people and in new situations but it doesn’t take them long to let their guard down and start having fun. These boys are very attached to each other and love to play and wrestle together. We would love to see them adopted together but if that isn’t possible, we do want to place each in a home with another dog to play with. They have gotten along very well with the other dogs in their foster home. Otis and Wishbone have done well with crate-training in their foster home so it shouldn’t be long before they pick up the housetraining routine in their new home even though they came from a horrible background. Otis loves to give kisses to his human friends to show his appreciation for the second chance he’s been given. Otis weighs about 16 pounds and his adoption fee is $200. The fee to adopt Otis along with his brother Wishbone is $350. He’s neutered, heartworm negative and on monthly preventative, up to date on vaccinations, wormed, on flea preventative, and microchipped. All Canine Lifeline adoptions come with a two-week trial period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized. Please email [email protected] if you’re interested in Otis. An approved application is required before we schedule meets with any of our dogs. We have no foster homes with young children so aren’t comfortable placing any of them in a home with children less than 4-5 years of age. We try to respond to inquiries within 24-48 hours so if you haven’t heard from us within that time frame, please check your junkmail or spam folder to make sure our reply hasn’t landed in there. Please visit our website at www.caninelifeline.org to see more photos of Otis and to submit an online application.
