Meet Spruce!  This young lady lives in a foster home with another dog and is keeping everyone on their toes. Speaking of toes, you need to make sure your slippers are on your feet or she might just walk off with one! 

Spruce is picking up on new skills quickly, her confidence has grown as she has settled into life with her foster family. She loves to go for walks, and is working on that annoying heel command. After all, there are so many exciting things to see and smell when you're in the great outdoors! She is a growing girl whose coordination is good for a giggle sometimes.

She is a sweet girl who is still learning the ropes, but has a lot of potential.

Her foster points out that Spruce does not like being touched on the head or having anything coming over the top of her head. They have made progress with her comfort level, and can now scratch the top of her head as long as they start with a good chin scratch. This is such important information to know. It may seem like a little thing, but since we know it makes her uncomfortable we can adjust our actions to help make sure she's secure in her environment. Reading body language and allowing a dog to adjust at their own pace is so important when you are bringing a new dog home. 

Her favorite activity is going on pack walks with her foster brother. He is teaching her the ropes of city living. Spruce has a long, happy life ahead of her, if you think she'd fit into your family please submit an application.
