Adopt a Great Pyrenees (long coat)
Odin in LA - new! the Dog needs a home
Children in the home must be at least 6 years old.
Previous dog experience is required, preferably large breed.
Odin has come to rescue and is seeking his furever home! He is a handsome fella, probably full Pyrenees, with an all-white medium to long coat. But he’s not just good looks, as he has a super sweet personality too! Odin is low-energy, and enjoys laying around, inside or out. He will approach for pets, but hasn’t tried to cuddle on the sofa...yet :) We imagine that once he figures out how comfy they are, he’ll become a regular couch potato! True to his lazy nature, Odin will start mealtime standing up, but gradually works his way to the floor so that the last morsels can be enjoyed laying down. This mellow guy is fine in the car, good meeting new people, and gets along with his 3 doggie foster siblings (2 females and 1 male). He barks at times, but doesn’t overdo it. Odin is responsive to leash training, and looks forward to working on his skills with his new family (he asks that they have lots of cheese for motivation). While you’re teaching him some new tricks, he may volunteer some instruction to you in return, like the optimal location for dining, for instance! Odin has been known to pick up his full dinner bowl and relocate to enjoy his meal in various places throughout the house. Oh, and this boy has musical talent! He composes and hums his own tune, starting closed-mouth and quiet and increasing in conviction, a crescendo to an open-mouthed original score! The humming is most often witnessed when he’s considering coming inside, as if he needs to psych himself up for the adventure through the door. Are you looking for a low-key companion that can help you hone your humming skills? If so, Odin’s your guy!

About Us: National Great Pyrenees Rescue (NGPR) is not a shelter. We are a not-for-profit, tax-exempt coalition of Pyr rescuers and rescue groups. We save Pyrs and Pyr mixes across the country and place them in approved foster homes so we know how they will interact with
your
family. Please consider adopting or fostering. Every dog who is fostered or adopted makes room for another Pyr coming out of a kill shelter. Prior to adoption, NGPR dogs are fostered for a minimum of two weeks (usually more), spayed or neutered and fully vetted. Dogs coming from out of area are certified with a USDA health certificate before going to their new homes. Our rescuers adhere to the highest placement standards and will take back any dog whose adoption does not succeed. Visit www.nationalpyr.org to learn more about us, our mission and our breed.
