Adopt a Domestic Short Hair (short coat)
Minerva the Cat needs a home
My name is Minvera! I came to my foster mom from Baltimore, after being rescued from a hoarding situation. I had a rough life before she came and scooped me up. I'm a scrappy and very brave girl with lots of personality. When my foster mom came to meet me at the shelter, I immediately came right up to her and gave her lots of nuzzles, even though I was pretty scared and stuck in a cage. I wasn't even upset during the car ride or being in a new place, I was just happy to be with a nice family in a safe home. My foster mom thinks I used to live on the streets because I'm such a tough cookie. She also tells me I'm extra good luck because she came and found me right before Friday the 13th! I'm a really special and loving kitty, and can't wait to meet my forever family.
I am a healthy and happy girl who prefers a warm lap and ear scratches to toys (but if you give me a good catnip toy, I might get pretty excited). I love affection and cuddle naps. My favorite thing to do is climb onto my foster mom's belly and snooze while she gives me lots of scratches and rubs. Though I definitely like to be in charge, I am used to being around other animals, since I lived with lots and lots of other kitties in my old house, and my foster mom has two kitties at home, too. I would do very well in a home with calm grown-ups because I sometimes get overwhelmed when there's lots of people or noise. I'm super independent and love to explore, and would be excited for a big space I could run around in. But I've gotten pretty used to the big city apartment life and am happy as long as I have a window to watch birds and squirrels! My favorite place to hang out is the windowsill where I have the perfect view of the street and can keep an eye on things.
