Adopt a Domestic Short Hair (short coat)
Princess Zelda the Cat needs a home
Princess Zelda was hit by a car at approx 6 months old, she has no use of her back legs but her spirit is strong and definitely alive. We rescued her when we found out that her family was going to just put her down. She uses her litterbox faithfully, nothing was injured as far as that goes. She gets around beautifully and I doubt there are many kitties that can love with her capacity. If you meet her and your heart doesnt melt, you may check for a heartbeat :-) Zelda would need to make sure she is in a home where she would not be able to get out and no stairs that she could fall down. She cannot jump up on things so she would need help with getting on the bed etc. Come meet her, guaranteed you will fall in love! Zelda, girl, born 2013
Meet Princess Warrior Zelda! She deserves that title because she is such a fighter. She and a sibling kitten were outdoor kittens with a family (first uh-oh). Neither were spayed or neutered and just free to roam the neighborhood, which had traffic and a lot of it.
One day their female owner came home to find this doll baby severely injured. She ran with her to the veterinarian and it was not good. Both of her back legs were twisted, broken and paralyzed. The female owner just brought her home and into the home where she would not be allowed to stay. The male owner said she would have to be euthanized. The female saw the spirit still very much alive in Zelda, so she began to make calls and HELP Humane was one of them.
We took her into our care and our hearts broke, the twisted back legs frozen in that state was hard to see but we also saw that she had a will to leave and get past her accident and resulting injuries. Only a couple days after her arrival, we found babies aborted in her bed with her. Good gracious, how much can this girl be put through
Well, that was the last trauma she went through and has thrived here since that, which was a couple years ago. She scoots around and climbs (and jumps off) cat trees; basically nothing stops her! She lives a full life and is loved by so many. Oh and she is definitely ornery and takes up for herself with no issue. She doesn't always use the litter box because her anatomy is not "normal" so she gets infections frequently and she is on daily meds to help her with that.
