Adopt a Labrador Retriever / Terrier / Mixed (short coat)

Meet SHARON! Sharon is a gorgeous female brownish-black (with some white on her chest) lab/bully mix; she is about 1-2 years old and only 40 pounds.  She is very shy and will do best initially in a quiet, patient home with adults and teenage children; poor Sharon needs to decompress and feel safe, after spending 3-4 months in the shelter.  When she feels safe, beautiful Sharon is sweet, gentle and greets her humans with gentle licks/kisses. Sharon likes to go for walks and becomes playful and a wiggly butt when she sees the leash (although this country gal is still getting used to traffic noise).  She is such a good girl, who deserves to be pampered and cherished, not abandoned at a high-kill shelter in North Carolina.  We can not understand how her family did not retrieve this sweet girl from the shelter!  PetConnect was able to come to her rescue and has brought her to the DC area to find her forever home.  So now Sharon is ready to leave her past behind and find her new, and this time, forever home.  She is crate trained (she likes to hang out in her crate -- her safety zone) and settles down nicely; she would love to curl up at your feet (or in your lap) to hang out on a cool winter evening.  She also seems to understand housetraining. Sharon is spayed, up-to-date on vaccines and preventatives and eager to find a family to love! The adoption fee for Sharon is $295, which includes routine vetting, spay/neuter, and heartworm treatment.

***Please note that our first step is submitting an application (it does not commit you in anyway but allows us to discuss with you if you and the dog are a good fit).  In addition, an important step in approving adoption applicants is to complete a vet check. Vetting of current and past pets is very important to us, thus we will be speaking with the vet(s) listed on your application to ensure that your current and previous pet(s) are kept up to date on vaccines (including rabies ) , spayed or neutered, maintained on appropriate monthly preventatives and examined annually by your vet.***
