Velma the Dog needs a home
From Velma:
I am around 2 years old, and would really like a home where I can finally feel safe, confident and learn to enjoy life again.
I love my little fluffy foster brother (I am told he is a mini schnauzer-corgi mix) and my two giant (great dane) foster sisters, and would really prefer a home with fur-ever siblings as I don't like to be alone. My foster mom has taught me how to be patient at mealtimes, and I eat near everyone else. I am not aggressive around my food, treats, toys, beds or my personal space. I can even go for walks on a leash - even when my foster mom walks all four of us together!
I am mostly house trained, but I don't know how to ask to go out yet so I am let out often when people are home. I've only had a couple of accidents in the few weeks since I arrived at my foster home - but my foster mom says it's probably because of medicine I had to take for an infection, but that is all gone now.
I can sleep in a crate at night, as long as I can see you and the other dogs, but I'm allowed to sleep wherever I want to now. My favourite spots are either on the couch with my biggest foster sister Devon, or the big dog bed on the bedroom floor because it's close to everyone else.
I prefer to be free with my foster siblings when I'm left home alone, as I don't like being by myself in the crate when the others are free. My foster mom says I've been a good girl when she's been gone for short stretches, and so now I'm allowed to roam free - they were even gone for 6 hours one day, and I didn't have any accidents or get into anything. Though she does say the doors to other rooms have to be kept closed just in case I get curious about shoes or trash cans. It's all good though, because all us fur-babies just lounge together and snuggle on the couches when left home! For more information, please email us at [email protected].
