Schnauzer / Yorkshire Terrier Yorkie / Mixed (medium coat) Dog

Sprocket the Dog needs a home

Meet our sweet terrier boy, Sprocket, who, just the opposite of his sister was scared during his time during the camera.  He has to have an opportunity to get to know you and trust you.  Once he does, his personality just oozes out!  (Sprocket is also known as Max in her foster home.)

Sprocket was brought to us from a rural shelter where he and (our best guess, his sister) had been found left in the backyard when the family moved.  Just left them to fend for themselves in the elements.  They were very lucky that someone took notice and contacted the Animal Care Officers in the city.

Sprocket was completely shut down when he got to the shelter.  The ACO worked very hard to gain his trust and proved that he was a sweet and loving boy, just petrified in the shelter environment.  He has adjusted well to life in his foster home and will do fabulously in a home with other dogs or, simply with humans who have lots of time for him.  He is a terrier, predominately Schnauzer, so he does love having his humans around.

Sprocket is rather shy around men and it takes time for him to trust; however, he has built great trust in his Foster Dad and loves to play with him.  He has a fabulous play bow and runs and runs, having a great time with him!  He also LOVES playing with his 4-legged foster siblings.  He will do best in a home with another playful and confident dog.

We are looking for a family who will love Sprocket and has plenty of time to dedicate to him.  He would make a great companion for carpool lane or on a patio in the evenings.  He is old enough that chewing and other puppy traits are behind him, but he has so many years left to be a fabulous member of the family.
