Adopt a Shih Tzu / Mixed
Mia D3958 the Dog needs a home
Hi, I’m Mia, a Shih Tzu mix with lots of energy born 12/18/2015. I have two favorite things in life: playing and snuggling on somebody’s lap. I really like to play with toys and other small dogs. I’m not a fan of big dogs - they scare me. I’ve never met a cat, so I’m not sure if I like them or not. I require daily exercise and interaction in order to get my energy out, so if you don’t have time please look for a lower energy dog. I am house trained as long as I am able to go outside on a consistent schedule. I’m also crate trained...somewhat. I don’t mind going in my kennel during the day while my foster parents are at work, but I hate sleeping in there at night. If I know humans are at home, the last place I want to be is in my kennel. I want to be following them around and sitting on their lap. I sleep really well in the big bed with my foster parents at night.
Even though I’m two, I still have some puppy qualities. When I get excited while playing, I get “mouthy.” I don’t bite hard, but I will put your hand in my mouth as a way to play. I promise I’m not trying to hurt you, but it might be painful for little kids. My foster mom is trying to teach me not to do this. I am also a chewer. I need toys to keep me occupied so I don’t find other things to chew like shoes or paper.
I am pretty small, weighing in at 13 pounds. However, I have a very loud voice. I like to let my foster parents know if I hear anything suspicious and I also bark while I’m playing. It’s my way of letting you know I’m having fun! Anytime a visitor comes over, I will bark until they pet me and say hi. Because of my voice, I should not live in a home with shared walls.
If you’re looking for a playful pup that will also keep your lap warm, I might be the perfect dog for you! Please fill out an application to see if we are a good match.
