Gamora the Cat needs a home
Gamora is sponsored on behalf of animal lovers Lori and Barry Sammellmann.
Gamora was living outside, under a porch, in the city with her newborn kittens. They were found by a good samaritan during a heavy rainy period and sadly, all but one of her kittens perished from exposure. Her surviving baby, Rocket, will be available for adoption in July 2017. Gamora is just as sweet, mellow and friendly as can be. She absolutely loves people and will coo and chirp at you when she wants attention. She is very gentle and accepting of other cats too; so much so that she immediately took to an orphaned kitten, Groot, who is now very bonded to her baby, Rocket. By the way, if you haven't figured it out, these cuties are all named after characters from "Guardians of the Galaxy".
Gamora is FIV+, which means that her immune system is not quite as strong as that of a non-FIV cat, but she has been nothing but healthy while in my care. She should live a very long and happy life with good nutrition, regular vetting and being kept indoors; all things that every kitty should receive. FIV cannot be passed to other cats unless through a deep bite wound (saliva to blood) and it is not transmittable to people or dogs. Fortunately, Gamora loves all kitties and has never shown a bit of aggression towards them. I usually find her cuddled up with and grooming one of the other foster kitties. As such, she should do just fine in a home with other cats as long as they are friendly and not aggressive. This link provides more information and common misconceptions about FIV - http://www.fivcats.com/FIV/fiv_common_myths.html.
Gamora is the perfect mix of sweet, playful, and social and she would make a wonderful companion to a very lucky family. She has very good household manners and LOVES her canned food. She also enjoys a good game of feather stick and when she's tuckered herself out, she likes to perch on her cat tree by the window and watch the birds outside. Gamora would do just fine with kids and would probably even adjust to a cat-friendly dog. She is spayed, microchipped, and current on vaccinations - DOB 11/8/14 - tag # 10606.
