Princess the Dog needs a home

Princess is a cute little lady who came to us needing some veterinary care. She had "cherry eye", which we've had repaired and is doing well, she needed dental work, also taken care of, and she tested as heartworm positive. We are treating that with the "slow kill" method, in which the monthly preventative stops further adult heartworms from forming, and the existing adults die off on their own at the end of their life cycle. It's easier on the dog than treatment by injections, and with a little lady like Princess we want to take the least risk and go for the greatest comfort possible.


Princess was very frightened coming from the shelter, and while she does settle down quickly and has learned to trust and enjoy people as well as the small dogs at her foster home, Princess is not an "instant" pet. She will need an experienced adopter who knows how to assist her transition as she bonds with her forever family.

Princess is a cute lady with a lot of love- she just needs the right home!
