Tiger the Dog needs a home
Meet Tiger! This handsome boy came from a home with way too many dogs, and owners who were not involved in his care. Tiger and his brother, Bandit, were the youngest in the pack, and given their condition were both clearly an afterthought. They had very little socialization with people or the outside world, and when they first came into rescue they were completely shut down. Fortunately, Tiger is young and resilient, and an inherently good-natured pup who is coming out of his shell in his foster home.
Tiger is being fostered with another dog and they get along great. Tiger is the more submissive of the two dogs, and he learns from and follows his foster pup brother’s lead on most things. They chase each other around in the back yard, and Tiger likes to cuddle up with his new pal. Tiger is a young pup who loves to romp and play, but is pretty mellow inside. His leash walking skills are good, but he's fearful of loud or sudden noises. He improving as he learns and gets more confident. He’s crate trained, and potty trained, and has no destructive tendencies in the home.
Tiger is shy around new people, but he warms up once given some time. Once he knows you, he is excited to see you, and is a very snuggly, affectionate pup. He’s great at greeting people when they enter the home, and remembers when he makes a friend. Now, when his foster dad’s roommate and girlfriend come home, Tiger gets really excited and runs up to greet them and get some pets and attention.
Overall he’s an amazing, sweet dog and will make some lucky family very happy. He would do best in a calmer home and quiet neighborhood at this point, but more updates to come as he adapts to our more urban area.
FOSTER UPDATE 1/15/18
Tiger is progressing and adapting to home life, but still is very nervous and timid outside the home, and around new noises, experiences. He would do best in a quiet neighborhood and another dog in his home to help build his confidence, and be his companion.
He's nervous in the car, and on walks in a quiet neighborhood, so he's not a good fit for condo or city life. He needs a structured home, and a family who has a little more time and patience to help him settle in and acclimate. He's a sweet boy, zero aggression, very loving.
