ADOPT FEE - FULLY VETTED: $ 200 (heartworm treatment price)
My Story: Hi! I'm happy to be alive!!! I was found roaming the streets of Quincy and picked up by animal control. The shelter in Gadsden County only holds dogs for 3 days before euthanizing, so I'm lucky a nice lady saw me and got me out of there!!! I am a sweet guy who loves being outdoors. I'm wonderful with other dogs...I live with 8 others in my foster home. I also live with kids and cats. I like to chase those kitties, but I never hurt them. They're just fun to run after. I am around 5-6 years old and am heartworm positive. I'm looking for a family who will help me through heartworm treatment and give me the best life possible. Won't you be my happily ever after? I know I'm not a cute little puppy, but this old guy has lots of love to give!

Emotional Support Animals (ESA)
Emotional Support Animals are not required to undergo specialized training. They can be dogs, cats, exotics, birds. Their primary role is to provide their owners with emotional comfort. Emotional support animals can benefit a disabled individual psychologically. The basic gift of companionship and unconditional affection can be the therapy needed to counter a condition like debilitating depression or Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.
ESAs are protected under the Fair Housing Amendments Act (FHAA) and the Air Carrier Access Act (ACAA). People meeting the proper criteria are entitled to an ESA to assist them with life. The FHAA protects individuals by allowing ESAs to live with them regardless of breed (even with no pet policies). The ACAA protects individuals by allowing ESAs to fly with them in the cabin of an airplane without having to pay additional fees. ESAs are not required to be professionally trained. An owner can train the pet. A letter of need written by a mental health counselor may be required for those wanting to transport via plane or for landlords. For information regarding the legalities of ESA contact [email protected].
