Domestic Short Hair / Calico / Mixed (short coat) Cat

Skipper the Cat needs a home

Skipper is a sweet and special girl. While she is perfectly healthy, she was born with a condition called cerebellar hypoplasia, or "CH." Meaning the cerebellum portion of her brain is underdeveloped due to her mother having panleukopenia. CH causes jerky movements, tremors, and uncoordinated motion. Skipper is mild to moderate, meaning she can walk pretty well on her own, although she will sometimes lose her balance and tip over. CH is not progressive (meaning it won't get worse), and with exercise and strengthening her muscles, her balance can get better. Skipper is also partially blind (most likely due to the CH as well), but she navigates around her foster home like a champ. She's very playful and cuddly, and just loves motoring around the house and being curious. Unlike some other CH kitties, Skipper can control her balance well enough to not need assistance eating, drinking, or using the litter box. She's learning how to climb and jump, but hasn't really tried stairs yet.

If you'd like to meet Skipper, please fill out an application using the link below, as she's in a foster home.
