Special cats need a home too!
The Forget-Me-Nots are a group of cats who live on the third floor of our shelter. Their early lives were hard, with little or no exposure to loving, caring people. We have volunteer socializers, who spend time with these cats, to help them learn to trust humans. These cats - of varying ages and histories - come in all sizes, and colors.
They enjoy the company of other cats and sometimes have a special buddy here at the shelter. The place these cats would like to call home will include another cat or two - maybe even their buddy.
They would most likely be happiest with an all adult family who will give them time to adjust to their new surroundings and who will spend lots of time with them without trying to get too close too soon. They will be afraid at first, and may hide for weeks. Once they get past the hiding stage the progress will happen slowly. We’ve heard many heartwarming stories from people who have adopted a Forget-Me-Not. Many of these cats will form a very close bond with one or 2 people but will not be comfortable with a large number of people. We don't know if they’ve had any experience with dogs but we will not rule out a home with a gentle, cat friendly dog.
