Adopt a Terrier / Chinese Crested-Hairless
Clyde the Dog needs a home
Dog Name: Clyde
Suspected Breed(s): Terrier/ Chinese Crested mix
Gender: Male
Age: 18 months old
Weight: 19.3 pounds
Personality: Affectionate, snuggler, smart, patient, loyal, adaptable, friendly, funny, goofy, playful, eager to please, outgoing, energetic, trainable, calm
Observations with Dogs: Clyde enjoys playing with the dog in his foster home, but he does bark when he sees other dogs on walks.
Observations with Cats: Clyde would probably do best in a home without cats, as he likes to play and chase them.
Observations with Kids: Clyde has met and spent time with a 3 year old and a 6 year old and did well, but he does need to learn not to lick little one’s faces. In his current foster home, he lives with an 11-year-old boy. They get along great and Clyde even sleeps in his room at night!
House Training Progress: No accidents.
Crate Training Progress: Clyde is not crated in his current foster home. He is still working on crate training.
Location: DC area foster
Rescued From: Smyth County, VA
Additional Information:
Clyde is a smart, cuddly, playful pup! He likes going to the dog park and making new friends, but his favorite activities are snuggling up with his humans and playing with his toys (especially his pig). Because he’s still young, Clyde has some puppy energy. A quick walk or a game of fetch do the trick for him though, and then he’s ready to come back inside and cuddle! Clyde is also very smart. He knows his name and comes when called. As he’s very food-motivated, so we think Clyde will respond well to training. Clyde is as gentle and loyal as they come, and he can’t wait to find his forever home. Clyde would be a good fit for a couple or a family with kids. Apply today to meet Clyde!
Clyde's rescue was sponsored by Gaby Richeimer in honor of her move to Clyde & Co.
If you are interested in meeting a dog, we require an adoption application. Visit www.citydogsrescuedc.org/adopt.html to apply. If a dog has "HAS APPLICATION" listed, they are still available to receive additional applications but also may be in the process of being adopted soon.
If a dog has "NEEDS FOSTER" listed, they are still available for adoption. Information about our current dogs in need of fosters can be found here: www.citydogsrescuedc.org/current-dogs-in-need-of-a-foster.html and the application to foster is here: www.citydogsrescuedc.org/foster.html.
City Dogs Rescue is a foster based rescue in Washington, DC. We do not have a shelter. We focus on local adoptions in DC and the metro area of Maryland and Virginia. CDR has a thorough adoption process in order to find the best possible fit for each of our dogs (we do not operate under a first-come, first-served model).
Prior to arrival, all of our dogs are spayed/neutered (unless specified) and given shots for Rabies, Distemper DHPP, and Bordatella. They are tested for Heartworm, Lyme, Anaplasma, and Ehrlichia. They are dewormed at least twice and given a health check by the vet. Most dogs will have a house training accident in the initial days in their new home and we cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken or crate trained. Our adoption fee is $395 (including puppies) unless noted -- senior dogs are available for an adoption fee of $200.
We do our best to disclose all health records and known health conditions to adopters. Upon accepting a new cat or dog into the organization, we provide a basic vet visit that includes necessary vaccinations and health tests, but does not provide a comprehensive medical exam prior to adoption. As a result, sickness, injury, and disability may exist unbeknownst to CDR & CK. City Dogs Rescue & City Kitties is not responsible for payment of any vet care, including known and unknown medical conditions once a cat or dog is adopted from us.
