Adopt a Mix
Fat Mama (because she's about to have puppies) the Dog needs a home
She's a young a 45-50 lb. pit bull mix, probably not even a year old, based on her size, goofy puppy-like demeanor, and how much size/weight she's put on since I started feeding her. She started hanging around a few months ago, stealing my cat's food because she was starving. I've been feeding her daily ever since and have gotten to know her. She's very friendly with a great temperament. She has never shown any aggression. Very fearful at first, but has learned to trust me. Surprisingly, she's not food aggressive considering she was starving when I found her. I can reach down and take her food away while she's eating and she won't bat an eye. You can tell she hasn't had much socializing but she can be handled more and more because I've been getting her used to being handled/touched by me. You can tell she enjoys the attention because she's obviously never had any before. She gets along well with my small dog and cat. Unfortunately, she came into heat and got pregnant. I'd expect her to give birth anytime in the next week or so. I've provided her a doghouse. I just hate to see her homeless and suffering in the cold, especially with puppies on the way. I would've taken her to a shelter by now, but that's an almost certain death sentence. She's so sweet and appreciative to have a little food, shelter, and attention, I just made up my mind I'd do all I could do to give her a chance at life. I'm certain she'd make a GREAT pet. As much as I'd like to, I just can't keep her permanently. She just needs a chance. Any help in finding her a home would be greatly appreciated. Until then, I'm taking it day by day. Thanks.
