Adopt a Pit Bull Terrier (short coat)

My name is Rosco and all I want is a chance…can you give me one? I used to have a home and a family but I ended up in the Elizabeth Shelter on death row, I don’t know why. Then some volunteers from EHR came to the shelter because they didn’t think my time should be cut short just because my family couldn’t keep me. And they gave me a new kind of home at the kennel.

I had to make a lot of adjustments but I’ve gotten used to it and I even made friends with some very special volunteers. You can see them in some of my photos. They were willing to take a chance on me and become my friend. Now, they’re hoping someone else will do the same, someone will bring me home and love me.

Let me tell you a little bit about myself and you can decide if I might be the dog for you. I am a 5-year-old red-nose Pit Bull boy and my favorite thing to do is play soccer. I like to carry the ball around in my mouth or do the same with my water dish. I am even bilingual – “Hablas Espanol?”

I walk great on a leash and enjoy a nice stroll through the park. But I need to go to a home that has Pit Bull or bully breed experience. I need a home that will give me the time I need to get used to my new surroundings. But I am trying so hard to be a good boy, to be someone you would want to take into your home.

I am housebroken, which is good because I don't like to be crated. I like to go for a ride in the car – see all the photos of me catching a ride with my kennel buddies? I’m a good listener, too, and they say I’m smart – I just want you to be happy with me, if you’ll just give me a chance. If you’ve got the patience and the love and the right kind of home for me, I would be so grateful to you for giving me the chance to love you back.
