Hadley did not have the easiest start to life. She came to Minnesota from a hoarding situation where she was one of multiple dogs. She was not exposed to many experiences in her early life, so she is very shy and timid, and most things scare her. She will need a patient adopter who is willing to spend the time and effort to continue to socialize her in all aspects of life. She is working on being house broken (no accidents in the house yet but she is kept on a tight schedule) and she doesn't mind the crate. She currently is still scared of people but shows more curiosity every day. Because she is so easily spooked, Hadley requires no small children in her forever home and would do best in a calmer, quiet home. Its hard to say if she will ever be the sort of dog who loves to snuggle and begs for attention, but with time, she will be the sort of dog who is happy to hang out near by. Hadley requires having a fully fenced in yard for her safety as she is skittish and quick to run while outside. She has been let out on a long lead in her foster's fenced in yard to help facilitate getting her back inside. She's about 50/50 about coming back inside willingly. This continues to improve everyday. Hadley required slow introductions to her doggy foster siblings and is now happy to hang out with them. She has also shown some resource guarding, so keeping high value treats out of public space and feeding her separately has helped to prevent issues. Having a confident dog buddy around to help show her the ropes is ideal and should help her become a more confident dog.
