We do not have a facility to house the dogs in our program. They are all kept in foster homes until they are adopted. Meet Smokey... Hello I'm Smokey,, I am approximately a 1 year old Chocolate Lab/Strafford mix that came from the Lancaster Animal Shelter. I love to make my people happy and want to be with them all the time. So much so that if I am left in the back yard too long I will try to find you, even if it means I have to climb a 6 ft wood fence!!!! I get along great with the other dogs at my Foster house and haven't had any problems. They have kids ranging from 12-16 and I love playing with them.
Smokey is a great dog he goes into his kennel without any problems and sometimes on his own just to take a nap. He gets along with our other dogs(lab, great Pyrenees and black mouth Cur). He is house broken and has not had any accidents yet. He does great with kids and really just wants to make people happy. He loves people and wants to be close to you. He does not like being alone outside to long without someone around (think he has some abandonment issues).
Smokey gets along great with other dogs and children not sure about cats. He does well on a leash and we are working on basic commands. This is my third dog to foster and Smokey is the easiest one so far. I really cant believe he sat in the shelter as long as he did. His personality is way, way more lab. He is gently and for his age calm as can be. Some lucky family is going to get an absolute great dog with Smokey!!
