Adopt a American Staffordshire Terrier / Mixed (short coat)

My name is Patches and I’m a big 'ole 60 pound bowl of jelly. I was abandoned as a puppy and ended up in the shelter which means I missed out on some very important life lessons when I was younger. It’s the Pits rescued me a few months ago and my foster mom has been working with me and the behaviorist to bring me up to speed on my emotional intelligence. As far as other intelligence goes, my foster mom says I am smarter than her two other dogs put together, but she made me promise not to brag. At just over 9 months old, I am still a puppy and have some puppy energy, but I am eager to please, and very food motivated, so training is fun and easy. Speaking of training, I will need my new mom/dad to have rules, enforce those rules, and continue to work with me so I can live up to my potential. I currently live with 2 foster brothers, an 11 year old English lab (low energy) and a 2 year old pittie (high energy), so I’m good with other doggies, but if I had my way, I would be an only dog or maybe with one other doggie, preferably a bigger one. My main challenge is my level of intensity. Not so much one-on-one with my human, but with my fellow dog friends. I think I am making up for lost time of being in the shelter, so I like to play intensely, and with 3 dogs, I get extra fired up. I’ve never seen a cat or children and would probably be too intense for both at this moment in time, but I sure do love to go on hikes, walks on the beach, and I really love road trips. My foster mom and dad even let me go on one where we stayed in hotels and I did great. I have a goofy, crooked little smile that makes my tongue stick out most of the time which is a perfect match my goofy personality.
