Rue MeowClanahan the Cat needs a home
Social, Playful, Loyal Meet Rue MeowClanahan, the glamorous Golden Girl who is as radiant and fun-loving as her namesake! Elegant and adorable, she looks just like a creamsicle with her beautiful orange patterning and soft white belly (she's really a softie even though her kinked tail makes her look tough)! Rue isn't much of a touchy-feely lap cat, but she absolutely LOVES being with her people so long as she can maintain a bit of personal space. Whether it's sleeping at your feet as you work, curling up next to you on the couch, or sprawling out on the floor to sunbathe while you read nearby, Rue cherishes any opportunity to simply be in the same room with you. She never fails to run up and greet you when you come in the door, purring all the way. In the morning she sits quietly at her foster mom's bedroom door and waits to sense her movement. Rue goes through spurts of playfulness (she especially enjoys chasing feathers and balls, and she makes cute hunting noises when watching squirrels through the window), but gets tuckered out after about three minutes - overall, she's a pretty mellow gal! Rue would be accepting of another pet in the house, as she gets along great with the older dog in her foster family -- her initial skepticism was quickly dispelled, and the two are now buddies who happily share a water bowl. She tends to stay away from kids but allows the 6- and 8-year-old in her foster family to pick her up. Her ideal home would be one that isn't too hectic but that doesn't leave her alone for long stretches of time -- she loves companionship and would really appreciate someone who can spend lots of quality time with her. Rue cannot wait to meet the forever family who will give her the love she deserves, and she is sure to fill your life with endless love and joy as well! Rue MeowClanahan is FeLV+ (Feline Leukemia Virus), which causes a weakened immune system and requires special care. APA! provides some medical assistance after adoption. Cats with FeLV typically have a shortened lifespan. Rue is not contagious to people or dogs, but should live only with other FeLV+ cats.
