Lucy Lala D3429 the Dog needs a home
Lucy Lala, known as Lala in her foster home, is truly a dog that has overcome the situation that someone else put her in. I encourage you to read more about her and know what a special girl she has become.
Lala has been in our foster home for now over a year. Upon first getting her, we knew to expect a shy dog. But what is sad is that someone never socialized her. Dogs should be petted, given love, patience and a warm home to lay their heads in. Although it is not known for certain, it appears Lala was a puppy mill mom. That meant as foster parents we needed to provide her the warm house she needed and the space around her to come out of her shell and to become a dog.
We continue to feel blessed with the progress she has made and each day she greets us at the door we feel like we hit we jackpot with her. Lala is a dog that will forever warm your heart. Is she one that will jump up onto your lap, give you kisses and be your foot warmer? Probably not. But there is one thing she will promise you and that is to be your best friend without the normal doggie best friend’s tactics. She wants to be in the same room as her humans and doggie friends but doesn't want to be right up in your face. She will greet you each day with smiles and a tail wagging but doesn't want you to give her big pets and rub her belly. She will sleep quietly at night and be on her best behavior while you are at work, and no kennel is needed! It is hard to find a family that wants these characteristics but our hearts tell us there is a family out there that will understand.
Some of the traits we are looking for in a home for her are: A home with another dog so she has a companion. She learns best from other animals. She would not like a friend though that likes to play rough and tough. Just somewhere there to tell secrets to in the middle of the night and to provide her confidence. A home with a secured fence. Lala will probably always be a flight risk therefore we would want a fence for her in case she gets scared. Some to 100% love her for whom she is and not try to 'fix' her into what she is not. We have started Lala on some anxiety medications and it seems to help her when things can become overwhelming (i.e. too many people come to the house or just new environment). We understand this may sound like alot, but truly Lala is a sweet girl who well just started off life wrong. She is looking for that perfect family that we know is out there.
** Little Lucy (aka Lala) is built more like a terrier weighing approx. 35 lbs. We require a fenced in yard for Lala to keep her safe and secure in addition for another dog she can continue to learn from. Please understand this when applying for her.
