Adopt a Catahoula Leopard Dog / Mixed (short coat)
Wilmer the Dog needs a home
Wilmer, also known as Nubbs (due to his docked tail), drew the short straw of previous owners. He was dumped along a country road, and waited by the roadside, in the exact spot he last saw his previous owner for seven days. Seven days. Why he was dumped we will never know. He is a young Leopard Catahoula (mix?), just at forty pounds, and has the sweetest temperament.
Nubbs has never met a stranger, and is good with people, children and dogs of all sizes. Nubbs likely lived outdoors, but has made the transition to inside dog quickly. His absolute favorite spot is on the couch right next to his human He is crate-trained, and house trained, although he is still learning to provide his humans a signal that he needs to go outdoors. Nubbs will need a secure 6ft wooden fence.
Nubbs would do well with an active family, one who will offer him plenty of walks and exercise. He would do well as an only dog, but would also be content with another playful companion.
If you feel your home might be the right place for such a great dog - the place to start is with the adoption application found at www.dfwrescueme.org/adopt. Once submitted, the foster will contact you promptly to tell you more and to arrange a time to meet!
The adoption fee for all of our dogs is $250.00, which includes their vaccinations and spay/neuter.
Wilmer is participating in the DFW Rescue Me Guest Dog Program, so ongoing care and custody are provided by their foster, not by DFWRM.
