Adopt a Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler / Mixed

AN ACTIVE LOVER OF PEOPLE:  1 year old / 26 lbs.  Mostly Mutts adoption facility is open Mon-Sat. 11-4pm.  Some of us are in foster homes so please call 770-272-6888 1st to find out if I’m available to meet during the week.  I’m an active girl which is typical of my breed, so I’m looking for a family that will be active with me!  I’d like to be your only dog and likely your only pet as I don’t see myself living with kitty cats either.  Don’t worry, I’ll be a great companion to you and we’ll have lots of fun together!  I love people and am affectionate and sweet with the volunteers, some even call me a cuddle bug.  I’ll jump into your lap and I give kisses, so you’ll know that you’re loved!  I’ll need a fenced yard in my new home as I’m not a dog that does well on walks with other dogs nearby, also no apartments as the quarters are too close with other dogs.  If allowed to stare at them, I tend to get fixated and can displace my aggression which I did once.  A MM trainer is working on this with me on this and I’ve been pretty easily redirected with a firm ‘leave it’ command and treat rewards.  They can go over this with you, so you can continue my good training and we can have lots of adventures together.  I also walk best with a metal leash as I could chew through the material type leashes.  But in a yard, we can play together and perhaps some agility or Frisbee training would be fun!   I’m working on my potty manners now and will need your help with this too.  My coat is super soft which will make you want to pet me and I approve.  Let’s meet and see if we can have lots of fun, training and adventures together.  A dog savvy family or person will be best for me.  I’d do best with calm, older dog-experienced kids due to my negative reactions to other dogs. I also have a high prey drive and would possibly chase kids (bike riders, car, etc.)   Energy level: 6-8. I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped, spayed and my adoption fee is $275.00.
