Ozzie the Dog needs a home
Hi my name is OZZIE and I'm a 4/5 y M Black Terrier/Poodle X. I'm 15 lbs of LIL' BLACK NUGGET. I was surrendered by my owner due to *cost*. I'm a sweet silly boy but I have a bit of a rough past and have initial trust issues. I am shy and coy at first when I meet you and as long as you approach me with a slowhand I will be ok. If you're too heavy handed and come at me too fast I will get snarky/snappy. Once I know you, I'm super affectionate and trusting and completely relaxed, snuggling up, allowing you to handle me, and rolling over for belly rubs. I know all my basic commands including sit, lay down, paw and roll over!! I'm an expert treat catcher as well! I like to play with toys, and I'm super smart - eager to learn and quick to please, but because I'm insecure, I tend to be a bit territorial and need further training to curb this behavior. That said, I need folks that are experienced with terrier behavior and a quiet home with no young kids and not alot of traffic. I'm fond of other dogs and would be great with a dog that is calm and balanced. I'm not sure about cats but I think I would definitely chase them at first. I would love a home in the country with a fenced in yard and long hikes. I'm a black diamond in the ruff and will be a gem if you're willing to be patient/tolerant and look past my initial edginess to work/stick with me to make me more balanced and secure.
