Adopt a Siberian Husky (long coat)

Meet our Little Mermaid, Arielle, due to her love for water! She enjoys splashing in the bathtub, pool and mud puddles! She's not a swimmer, but likes to wade.

Arielle came to us almost 6 months ago. She was an owner surrender. We quickly learned why. Arielle has some special medical issues. We weren't able to potty train her and upon further examination, we determined Arielle had a vaginal stricture and has under producing cortisol glands and incontinence. Arielle's medical issues have been addressed now, but her maintenance medication is approximately $150-$200/MONTH. She is able to go 3-4 hours without needing to pee and doesn't leak. Overnight and when we leave the house, she wears a diaper and will leave it on with no problem. 

Don't let her incontinence fool you - she is one super dooper puppy! Ari is now 10-12 months old. She is fully grown at 46lbs but her head and paws will probably remain puppy-like forever. She is a red and white wooly Husky with two blue eyes. Arielle is a big time player - she needs other young, playful dogs in the home. She needs a home with ample space to run and a fence. And she needs toys, lots and lots of toys. Even though she exhibits many puppy like characteristics she is great at self entertaining and can chill out with the best once she's gotten her laps and playtime in with her friends. She is a vocal Husky who will woo-woo at the top of her lungs when it's time to eat or when you first come home, so no apartments or town homes please. She's a silly girl who makes her foster family laugh daily.

She's being fostered in Maryland and any adopter should be willing to adopt her at our MD rescue office. We'd like to see her adopted to a family close by to where her vetting care has been performed in Crofton/Annapolis if at all possible. 

~~The Last Resort is a foster based rescue. Our dogs are in our foster homes all up and down the east coast. We do not have a facility in which you can visit. We find this a huge benefit because we learn our dogs and are able to educate our adopters on what it’s like to have them live in your home.
