Opal the Dog needs a home
Opal is a beautiful and funny and oh-so-smart 4year old Golden/Lab mix. She knows a variety of commands, some silly tricks, and...well...most of the English language. Opal loves people, ALL the people: women, men, and children. She is a constant companion and will follow her people around from room-to-room just to be near them. Opal is the absolute perfect mixture of playful and couch-potato. She enjoys fetching and catching and being tickled, but also equally enjoys sunning and lounging and napping. Opal has proven to be fabulous with just about all dogs, big and small. She has shown some resource-guarding-like behavior with other dominant females, however, this behavior is inconsistent and appears situational. Even though this behavior is rare, dog intros are recommended. Opal takes a half-dose of a medication (called Proin) daily which helps her with bladder control. This inexpensive, low-dose of meds allows her to be 100% house trained. Without it, she does leak urine sometimes when sleeping. Sweet Opal is very aware of her "accidents" after they happen and will try to clean them up herself, an act that is heartbreaking to see. She will need a forever home that can make sure she gets her medicine daily. Like so many foster dogs, Opal has a history of being failed by her humans. Like all of the others, the first day of her new life began when she became a foster dog. Adopt Opal. This smarty-pants is amazing. Her future is BRIGHT.
Opal's adoption fee of $125.00 includes her microchip, spay and current DHPP and Rabies vaccine.
