Adopt a Husky / Mastiff / Mixed (medium coat)

Smallz is not up for adoption through Safe Haven, but instead is a courtesy listing on our Safe Haven website.   If you are interested in giving Smallz a new home, or have any questions about him, please give his owner Kim a call at 319-361-0000.  Smallz is currently living in Monticello, Iowa. 

Smallz is a great dog, whose family has realized that he needs a new home where he will have more room to run. Smallz is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on all his vetting.  He  just turned 2 years old, so he has many years of love and devotion left.  Smallz would do best in a new home that does not have any cats, and he tends to prefer his dog friends to be female dogs  - he usually does not do well with other male dogs.  He loves kids and is housebroken.  

Smallz is not crate/kennel trained - he has always had free roam around the house throughout the day and night....however he has recently become very interested in being outside and even broke through a screen to get outside.  So Smallz will need a home where he can be safely kept inside when needed, and some way to contain him in the yard as well because he loves to roam the world around him and has figured out how to jump over the current fence in his yard.  

These concerns has convinced his current family feels like Smallz would love a home out in the country.  He is a Husky/Mastiff mix - check out the super cute picture below of Smallz as a puppy with his siblings and his beautiful white Husky mom!  This Husky inside of him makes is a very active dog that dreams about exploring the countryside....so he just needs a home to help keep him safe and still get him the exercise he needs.
