Butterball the Dog needs a home
Butterball is a petite 3-year-old golden/corgi blend who was rescued from a backyard, where she was left unattended and barely fed. She was kicked away every time she attempted to go into the home, so she (along with a lab named Daisy) learned to fend for herself. A compassionate neighbor visited and fed Butterball and Daisy and was able to eventually get the owner to relinquish them to rescue.
Butterball has been in foster care for a little over 2 weeks. She has learned to respect the 2 kitties who also live in the home and is making friends with the 2 dogs. She is still very timid and spends a lot of time hiding underneath the bed in the master or guest room. She does come out for tummy rubs and will come when called. She loves being pet and praised and will join her person on the couch to watch TV. She is crated overnight as she is still not 100% housebroken. She is a great little warning system and hears sounds the other 2 dogs ignore. She needs a person or couple who will spend a lot of time talking to her and giving her experiences that she missed the first part of her life. She looks for approval and praise. She takes treats gently and has learned to head to the cookie jar after each successful trip outside to potty. She is a wiggly happy girl when praised. She is still learning to trust and hasn't given her heart just yet, but, wants to be loved.
