Adopt a Cattle Dog / Bulldog / Mixed (short coat)
Steyr the Dog needs a home
OUT OF STATE ADOPTIONS: We do allow out-of-state adoptions for dogs, however, the adopter MUST come to Houston to get the dog and take the dog home with them. We do not allow our dogs to be shipped. Also, our puppies can only be adopted to the immediate Houston vicinity as it takes 4 months to get them completely vetted at our vet here in Houston. We will not allow our dogs/puppies to be adopted out of the area without being spayed/neutered. We spay/neuter puppies at 4 months old.
Here I am at K-9 Angels, I am so glad to finally be here. As usual, I am “pulling up the rear”! My eight other siblings and I were snug and safe in our mother’s womb until one day, she was on the street searching for food and she was hit by an automobile!! Shook us all up pretty bad! A very nice lady that saw the whole thing, rescued Mom and took her to the shelter. The kind doctors there examined her and found some wounds and possible hip damage in the x-rays. They also found US!! They counted 10 little wee ones and decided right away to find a good foster home for Mom and us. Poor Mom, she was in a good bit of pain and limping, but she was so stoic about it all. The foster folks named her “Stowie” because of her attitude! Well, it was so cozy and stress free after that until our birthday!! Oh wow, if you remember what that was like? Mom didn’t really know what was happening, she had never had any pups before, so foster mom had to do most of the work.
Steyr is a sweet love of a girl. She is very high energy and loves to run. She starts at one side of the kitchen, runs, and slides to the other side. Her favorite place to play is in the back yard – there is more space and unintentional obstacles for her to jump over and run around. She loves to roll around in the leaves and will jump in the mud if I don’t catch her. Steyr isn’t just go, go, go, she will cuddle. She loves to be held and give me kisses, will climb into my lap to play with her toys, and fall asleep in my arms. She and her sister Perazzi play chase and share toys and food well, she isn’t territorial or aggressive. She is pretty good about using the puppy pad and newspaper. Steyr is a smart little girl, is learning “No” and “Drop” quickly. She is a chewer so I keep her supplied with many toys in a variety of textures. On occasion she tries to chew on something inappropriate but responds well to redirection and a firm “No”. She is intrigued by the cat but backs away when he hisses. She does well in the crate and only whines if she's hungry. I haven’t known her for long, but she will be easily trainable and benefit from an outlet like agility and/or have another dog to play with.
Steyr is a Female Cattle Dog / Bulldog Mix that was born on 12/6/2017.
PUPPIES: Young puppies that have not had their second round of puppy shots will not be at the Adoption Center for our weekend adoption events. If you are interested in adopting a puppy, please fill out an application on our website http://www.k-9angelsrescue.org
SPAY/NEUTER: As we believe proper healthcare of one’s pet is a requirement of good ownership K-9 Angels Rescue only adopts out dogs that have been fully vetted. If the dog being adopted is not already altered at the time of their adoption, the dog will be altered within 2 weeks of adoption at our vet at our cost, with the exception of puppies which will be altered as soon as the puppy is ready.
NOTE: All dogs are officially the property of K-9 Angels Rescue until they are altered by our veterinarian.
