All that glitters is not gold...it could be PUPPIES!
Six beautiful puppies, to be exact! We're excited to introduce to you the Glitter Litter! These sweet-faced cherubs appear to be a Catahoula Leopard Dog mix about 3.5 months old. Claus is one the five boys in this litter. He's a beautiful red, gray and white merle, one of the darker puppies, and his coat looks so soft in his photos. He has a wide white chest, white legs and the tip of his tail is white. These pups are great with other dogs and people of all ages and sizes! Kitty cats are currently an unknown. Crate training is in progress, but house training and learning to walk on a leash are still on their "to learn" list. They do fine in the car and find new places interesting. They have typical puppy house manners: chew, jump, bark. They're eager to please, even-tempered and obedient (for puppies) - a great combination for acing obedience class where you and your new puppy can learn cool stuff, continue his socialization with new dogs and people, and get in some quality bonding time. Though a fenced yard is the ideal safe place for your puppy to romp and play, if that's not an option then daily leash walks, along with opportunities to play off-leash in a dog park or at doggie daycare, will help them get the exercise they need. Dogs of all ages benefit from mental exercise, too - think puzzle toys and games. These little jewels are playfully goofy, and like toys and cuddle time.
Bringing up Claus will take a lot of time, energy and patience, just like with all puppies, but watching him blossom into a well-mannered adult canine citizen will be so totally worth it! Fill out an application today for Claus Glitter and prepare to watch him shine!
Glitter Litter Backstory: They were born at the shelter to a mama who one was of 40 dogs rescued from a poverty situation.
Medical Note: This dog was treated for demodectic mange while in the SOS program. The dog has responded well to this treatment. Please note that demodex can flare up in any dog in times of stress (eg, transport, transition to a new home, change in food, etc). As such, the adopter is advised to discuss this condition and best next steps with their veterinarian. SOS recommends that dogs with a history of demodectic mange be kept on regular NexGard or Bravecto for flea/tick prevention for at least 3 months or until 18 months of age. Please see here for more information on demodectic mange:

. Please check with your vet if you should have any questions or concerns about this condition, and discuss any concerns you may have with your SOS Adoption Counselor.

**Additional info you should know - For most of our dogs, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our dogs as an individual and do our best to describe and place them based on personality not breed label. Some dogs may not yet be in New England, nor ready for immediate adoption. There may be additional vetting, quarantine, waiting periods and/or fees depending upon your state of residence. If you have questions or concerns on any of this, you can discuss this with your Adoption Counselor.
