Adopt a Catahoula Leopard Dog / Mixed (short coat)
Bob the Dog needs a home
Say "Hi" to Bob! He came to Take Me Home from the Amarillo Animal Shelter and is a handsome Catahoula with beautiful markings!
Bob may be the friendliest, non-reactive, lovable and playful dog that we have ever met. He was adopted about 9 months ago; however, the family underestimated the amount of exercise and interaction a Catahoula will need. Bob quickly fell into boredom and bad habits, so we are working to find him the perfect home.
Bob is very inquisitive, affectionate and loves to be around people. He is very laid back and enjoys his time outside. Being a puppy, he is very energetic and needs a large yard where he can run and play time with his humans and another very active canine. He would make a great partner for a walker/jogger.
Bob knows basic commands (sit, down, stop, shake); is crate and house trained. Although, he would prefer to sleep on the floor or a chair near his humans. Bob enjoys kids and will do well with older kids who understand the needs of a learning puppy.
He absolutely enjoys belly rubs, cuddles on the couch and playing fetch. Bob will probably do well in a pack with proper introduction as he has never met a stranger, human or canine.
If he ends up being an only dog, he will love to be your shadow or helper with errands & yard work. Bob definitely wants to stay active and share his love of adventure with his forever family.
Bob's approximate birthday is 8/17/2016. He is approximately 54 lbs, but is in the process of losing weight. With the right diet and exercise, Bob will be about 40 - 45 lbs.
