Jupiter– Our New Outer Space Collection

4 Year Old Black Male, 73lb

Normally, we let the dogs tell their story.  Today, I am going to take over for Jupiter to tell his tale from the point of view of our Fearless Leader at the Labrador Retriever Rescue of Fresno.  This woman has the impossible job of choosing who to take into rescue between so many. A very difficult job that you must constantly work at to keep it from eating you up inside.

Like too many dogs, Jupiter was let down by his humans. From there, he ended up in a shelter, where, due to his behavior when afraid, he was not adoptable.  Nicknamed Mr. Grumbly for the way he speaks up when frightened, Jupiter’s sole destiny in the shelter was the needle of death. Who would adopt a dog like that? He wasn’t even allowed out on the adoption floor. Lucky for him, there are still people in the shelters who really care.  A woman who has managed to hang on to her heart despite the daily sadness, saw in him his sweetness, his gentleness and protectiveness of the other dogs around him, his desperate need for love.  She recognized in him a dog that deserved, no, was owed, a chance; so, she reached out to one of the few rescues that would take such a guy – The Labrador Retriever Rescue of Fresno.  When our Fearless Leader met the obvious Lab mix, who did his grumbly thing, she was taken aback a bit.  But the trusted shelter worker persisted – give this dog a chance – it would be his only chance.  So, she made the choice and put him in the car.  He immediately became a different dog, recognizing his rescuer.   He has never grumbled at her again, just the Lab lean on you when he needs a pet and a friend.

Never judge a book by its cover is the motto with Jupiter.  He is beautifully unique, a gorgeous dog with a most handsome one-of-a kind coat. It quickly became apparent to our Fearless Leader that if you give Jupiter a few minutes to know you are one of the good ones you will be a most loyal guy, staying right by your side.  He obviously knows the value of love and trust!  He is smart, house trained, crate trained and gets along beautifully with other dogs.  His labby curiosity is starting to blossom, but at the same time he is tempered with a more mellow energy level.  He walks well on a leash and is learning things like “sit” and about play and toys (he loves his Kong, especially when it is filled with a treat.)  His number-one wish is to have a loyal family to love him like he will love them.  So, if your house is aligned with Jupiter, this could be your perfect match – just give him a chance and you will have the best, most loyal, guy in town.

Jupiter is available for adoption through the Labrador Retriever Rescue of Fresno.  A sweet, loving, dog, this boy requires love, patience, and a dog-savvy family who will provide training and regular exercise to develop him to his fullest.  He gets along well with other dogs and would love a four-legged friend. He has not been cat tested. If you have ever wanted to be a part of rescue, and have a loving, stable home to share, the time is now and Jupiter is your guy!  If you would like to have an out of this world dog in your life, please fill out an application at our website: http://www.LabRescueFresno.Org
