Picasso is a sweet and smart dog. He is house trained and quickly becoming crate trained. He has been left out of his crate for very short intervals (10 - 15 minutes) and hasn't had any problems. He likes his toys. He'll chew on them for a bit and often runs after a toy if it bounces. He likes his Kong toy the best even if there isn't a treat stuffed in it.

He really, really loves walks! So much that he doesn't want them to end. He walks better on a leash each day. He pulls a little when he is really excited or sees a rabbit. He is learning "leave it" for the rabbits and doing really well with it. He likes to stop to smell things but often moves on after a few moments. He would really love a yard to run around in. He enjoys ice cubes and cuddling but is also independent and lays on the floor. He sleeps on the floor in the bedroom at night with the door closed. He'll even let you sleep in!

Picasso knows some commands that we are reinforcing like "sit", "down" (for





lay





down), and a whistle to come, and he is learning "leave it", "off", and "come". Currently he eats from a plate and doesn't walk on tile floors but he is improving on both with some treat coaxing. He doesn't react to most loud noises like sirens and claps but hides if the blender is loud. He doesn't bark much, but we are working on "quiet" and then having him "come" and trying to distract him. He almost never barks at the yippy dog upstairs.

He can be a bit mouthy at times, and generally more so when he is excited - this makes him inappropriate for small kids at this time. He doesn't use much pressure and often can be redirected to toys. He loves ear, jaw, butt and belly rubs! He hasn't had any accidents in the house or torn apart anything. He is gentle with his food (in fact I had to hand feed him the first few times), treats, and toys. He appears to love other dogs and people, but doesn't do well in a group setting like doggy daycare as he isn't always good at reading cues from other dogs  (likes to play more than they might). Picasso is a sweet and well mannered boy. He is really smart and with a little patience, love, and treats he is learning new things and learning quickly. He'll be a great companion!
