Adopt a German Shepherd Dog (medium coat)
Indy the Dog needs a home
Indy is an absolutely gorgeous (and she knows it!) German Shepherd who was born in 2012. Indy was brought to our shelter after her owner moved into a nursing home and couldn't take her with him. She misses her dogdad a lot... When she was first with us, she would look out the kennel door into the garage, waiting for him to come pick her up and take her back home. Now, Indy sits near the kennel door and waits around for a couple volunteers (whom she loves very much!) to spend time with her. Indy is spayed, up-to-date on her vaccinations, and weighs 68 pounds. She tested negative for Lyme disease, Ehrlichiosis, Anaplasmosis, and heartworm. She was diagnosed with Pannus on 9-10-14 and we apply an ointment to her eye daily. Indy knows what "kennel up" means, but she isn't too happy about it... she busted out of one of our kennels! Indy prefers to be outside in a fence and would do well on a farm. (By the way, she LOVES rolling around in the snow, especially if she has a friend with her!) She knows how to sit, stay, and shake, and she loves belly rubs! Indy enjoys playing with toys, especially if they squeak! She likes to play fetch, but only by herself... She dislikes it when other doggies take **her** ball away. Indy gets along well with some dogs, but she cannot be trusted with cats... She thinks cats and other pets (like rabbits) are fun to chase and are toys. Indy walks well while wearing a chain collar and a harness. She's an intelligent doggie who can open the back door to let herself in if it gets too chilly outside. Does Indy sound like the perfect "little" lady for your family? Come visit and get to know her better!
