Xanthe the Cat needs a home

Sometimes shelter stories are just plain sad. Animals that spend years in a shelter is so heartbreaking to us. That being said, we are on a mission to get Xanthe adopted by Christmas!!! We are asking YOU for help.....please share Xanthe's info. She is the longest resident here at JSAC. Our Xanthe girl first came to us in 2013 as a kitten with her siblings. All were adopted but her. She grew up here at the shelter and waited 2 years for someone to take her home. We thought we had a good home for her, and for 5 months she finally was able to enjoy the comfort of a real home. Sadly, her owner had to be hospitalized and was unable to take care of her anymore so she was returned to us. It has been another year and a half that Xanthe has been back with us with no interest from anyone :( Xanthe is spayed, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped. She would prefer a home without dogs. She lives in our free roaming room with other cats, but it does take her quite a while to warm up to new cats. Xanthe is 4 1/2 years old now, and spent the majority of her life here at the shelter. While we are happy to care for her, we would love to see her in the home she truly deserves.
