In the spring of 2014, a litter of newborns was found sleeping in a drain pipe. Thanks to a Good Samaritan, the mother and her puppies were saved, one of them being Poncho. He was originally adopted as a puppy, but his family was moving and couldn't take him with them, so he's now back with the rescue. This boy with the stunning brown eyes is almost 3 years old, obedience trained, potty trained, great in the house, and good on a leash, but needs someone to give him structure in his new home. He has a case of 'stranger danger' and has a hard time telling the boogeyman from the guy next door. You'll need to spend some time with Poncho before adopting him, so he can build trust with you, first. A home where someone has the time to spend with him will give you the best friend you could've ever imagined. He's absolutely great with the people he knows and just needs to broaden his circle!
The minimum adoption donation for adults is $300 and the adoption donation for puppies is $400 - $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is tax deductible. The adoption donation provides that all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis ( i.e., puppies who will need to be altered by 6 mos old). Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.
