Update 9/15/16

Bear has recently attended a flyball class and seems to LOVE it!

Update 1/21/16

Bear – suspicious of strangers with likelihood of nipping if not with a dog savvy human. Will chase cats. Is good with dogs off leash but very defensive with unfamiliar dogs on leash or in a small space. The best athlete I have here! Would make a fabulous agility dog with an experienced handler. Needs at least 5 foot fenced yard.

Bear is a tennis ball fetching machine, good in crate, good with other dogs, has been introduced to agility, will stalk the cats but hasn’t ever tried to hurt them. He is stand-off-ish of new people. Bear needs to be placed in a home without children, needs an advanced dog savvy human. (5/2/15)

Bear LOVES to fetch tennis balls and will do so for hours each day. He also enjoys have a good chew on a hard bone, antler,  nylabone , etc… He is good with other dogs – however when he is in an unfamiliar environment and there are dogs that he doesn’t know….he cannot meet them while on leash, he is very defensive and doesn’t like them in his personal space. Same goes for unfamiliar people when he is in an unfamiliar environment….he can be a little fearful. When he is at my place where he is familiar, he doesn’t know a stranger and once they start throwing his ball then all in his world is swell!

He is great in the car and on leash, however he will pull on his leash so he is belly wrapped when I walk him on leash. He enjoyed his limited time learning about agility and I’m sure would love to continue his lessons. He is very foodie and loves toys and is a quick study. He will chase my cats but hasn’t tried to hurt them. He will on occasion have disputes with a dog over a chew bone…..but it never escalate (9/24/14)

*******************************************************

Bear is now about 2 year 2 month  of age. He is a tennis ball fetching machine and has earned the name "Air Bear" around here for his ability to get  some sky when jumping for tennis balls. He also very much likes to play with other dogs. He is fine with my cats but is very interested in them when he has time to be around them...lots of starring ;)

Bear is a fun dog to be around and is pretty easy to live with. He does get worried when he is in a new environment and this makes him a little worried about new people and dogs. When he is at home and in a familiar environment he generally warms right up to people and is one of my most reliable dogs with other dogs. At my doggie daycare Bear is often used to test how other dogs are with dogs because I can usually rely on him to be appropriate when meeting a new doggie.

There are some dogs here that he opts to agree to disagree with and oddly enough it is always a dog with a similar temperament and structure as him... It never results in anything other than noise and his is easily stopped. He is a young, fun doggie that is very much ready for a home of his own, so that he can get all the lovin and not have to share with his foster siblings ;)(Updated 1/25/14)
