Adopt a Domestic Short Hair / Mixed (short coat)
Piggly Wiggly the Cat needs a home
DOB:4/19/11
FIV POSITIVE
I HAVE A LITTLE PIGGY BODY BUT I DON'T RUN AROUND SQUEALING. I AM A
VERY COOL CAT. VERY MELLOW. I LIKE PEOPLE AND OTHER WELL BEHAVED CATS
AND DOGS. KIDS, OKAY, I LIKE THEM, BUT PLEASE--- BE NICE TO ME.
SOME HAVE TOLD ME I LOOK LIKE A CHINA DOLL CAT. YET, I SPEAK NOT A
WORD OF CANTONESE.
I LIKE TO SIT IN A LAP AND BE STROKED. SLEEPING ON A BED IS MY SECOND
FAVORITE THING. WAIT! NO EATING IS MY SECOND FAVORITE THING. I LOVE
WET FOOD! I KNOW I AM A BIG BOY, BUT IT IS ALMOST ALL MUSCLE. SO LET'S
NOT SKIMP ON THE CHOW.
I SHOULD HAVE BEEN ADOPTED LONG AGO, BUT SOME PEOPLE DON'T UNDERSTAND
THAT BEING FIV POSITIVE IS NO BIG DEAL, given proper care and attention, an FIV+ cat will live the same lifespan as an FIV negative cat. The disease is extremely hard to transmit from cat to cat, requiring direct blood contact (typically from a deep puncture wound). It is not transmissable to humans. Click here for a basic FAQ about FIV. If you'd like to read a much more detailed and comprehensive FAQ about FIV, we recommend this site. HEY, NOBODY IS PERFECT.
FIV IS NOT LIKE HIV IN PEOPLE. DOGS AND PEOPLE CAN'T GET FIV, AND IT
IS REALLY HARD FOR OTHER CATS TO GET IT. MOST CATS WITH FIV NEVER GET
SICK. IF THEY DO GET SICK THEY USUALLY GET SOMETHING CALLED
"STOMATITUS". WHICH ARE RED SORES IN THE MOUTH. IT CAN BE TREATED WITH
STEROIDS.
I JUST HAD A DENTAL CLEANING IN JANUARY OF 2016 (NO CAVITIES, NO
EXTRACTIONS! YEA!!!!) AND FOR THE FIRST TIME HAD TO GET A STEROID
SHOT. NO FUN. BUT NOW I AM GREAT. LOVING THAT FOOD!!!!!!!
