Adopt a Cockatiel
Ellliot the Bird needs a home
Elliot is a beautiful senior male pied cockatiel. He looks great and gets around well for his age.He had lived with one family his whole life, but unfortunately they can no longer care for him. Elliot had been hand tame, but has spent the last several years in his cage. Elliot's foster mom is working with building trust and getting him comfortable to hang around people again. He is making great progress.
Elliot used to live with another cockatiel, who sadly passed away a few years ago. In his foster home he chirps and sings to the other small birds in the home. He likes to come out of his cage and sit on a boing attached to the cage. Elliot would do well in a home with other small birds or kept in a family room where he can be part of the action.. Due to his advanced age, he should not be in a home with young children.
Elliot is full flighted and is adept at flying short distances.
Elliot eats a diet of seeds with pellets mixed in. He loves romaine lettuce, grains such as quinoa, and scrambled eggs and starts away at it the minute it is placed in his cage. He will also
Elliot likes sitting by his mirror and by a small toy that makes noises when he presses the buttons.
Elliot is being fostered in Hightstown, NJ.
Elliot's hatch date is September 1993.
