Adopt a Domestic Short Hair (short coat)
Colton the Cat needs a home
Colton
is a big, friendly boy (approx. 5 years old) who was dropped off at a Chicago shelter when his previous owner passed away. Colton has moderate Cerebellar Hypoplasia, so we were happy to welcome him into the Community Cat family. We wanted to make sure he got a second chance at forever! Colton is able to navigate his foster home quite well and seems to like living with other kitties. We hope Colton's happy ending is out there with a family ready to give him the love he deserves :)
CH is a neurologic disorder that doesn't get worse and doesn't get better. CH most often causes jerky, shaky, unbalanced movements. There is no pain associated with CH and the cat knows no other life and often do great! You can learn more about CH here à http://chcat.org/about-ch-cats/
If you are interested in adopting one of our wonderful cats or kittens, you can apply on our website: http://www.commcat.org . Please allow several days for us to process your application. We are a small, all-volunteer group and we are doing our best to work quickly! After the application is processed we will make arrangements for you to meet the cats that interest you. All of our cats and kittens are raised in our homes and live with us until they are adopted. They live with us as part of our families so we know them very well and we can help you find your perfect cat! Cats are rarely caged (only if its medically necessary) so you can visit with them and see how they act in a home. Our adoption fees are $50 for adult cats, $85 for kittens under one year, and double the love with two adult cats for $85. All cats are spayed or neutered, dewormed, vaccinated for rabies and distemper, tested for FIV and FeLV (feline leukemia), and microchipped.
