Adopt a Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed

With all due respect to Cherilyn Sarkisian, GPG's Cher is just as gorgeous as her namesake, but she comes by her beauty naturally. A little over a year old, she has transformed from an underweight, dejected dog to a brawny, healthy people lover who continues to gain confidence each day. Now that she's physically healthy, she's ready to continue her work on not reacting towards other dogs while on a leash. Currently living with three other dogs, Cher is dog friendly but is selective, needing proper and slow intros. A yard with a privacy fence is ideal for Cher, but as a former malnourished dog, she thinks sticks and acorns are delicious, so she does need to be monitored in the yard. While she loves all people, her tendency to snatch high-value treats means it would be better for no small children to be in the home. She would do fine as an only dog or with one other non-reactive dog comparable to her size (50 pounds). No small dogs or cats, please. Is she as high maintenance as her namesake? Maybe. Is she worth it? Absoultely.


A quintessential lap dog, Cher's favorite activities include snuggling with her people and being wrapped up like a burrito (a Cherito) in anything from a fitted sheet to a soft blanket. Crate- and house-trained, this beauty is extremely food motivated and eager to learn. An empath to the nth degree, she will cheer you up with her little love nibbles and dark, soulful eyes, rimmed in doggy eyeliner and white lashes. Who wants to welcome Cher into their family and sing to her, "I got you, babe"?

Further, because "pit bull terrier type dog" is not a breed we can list and because this dog has a blocky head and other characteristics that make the public perceive him/her as a pit bull, we are listing him/her as a pit bull mix. However, we do not know his/her actual genetic makeup. Just know that this dog is probably a variety of several different breeds that have combined to create one very amazing and unique animal.
