Adopt a Labrador Retriever / Mixed (medium coat)

Hi! My name is Skye (yes my foster sister named me after the Paw Patrol character) I came from a shelter environment which I really did not do well in.There were a lot of loud noises and the humans there said I couldn't be out with them all the time. My foster mom also switched me to grain free food and Ruff Start gave me a warm bed in a home, so I am feeling much better! My foster mom says I am a huge lover and want nothing more than to be next to you. I will sit, lay, or walk next to you wherever you go! I can sometimes get jealous if another animal comes up and wants to take your attention away from me. I can also get kind of protective if strange dogs approach you, but it's just because I love my humans so much. After a few months, I am starting to like my furry foster siblings.It took me a while to warm up to them, but now we run the yard with each other. I even put up with their sometimes annoying behaviors. I am happy to say that I am mostly capable of cohabitating with them after very slow introductions, however I would love it if I was the only dog. I'm not too fond of toys, but if you're looking for companionship, I'm your gal! I will play fetch all day long if you let me. I really really love my bones too! I always pick up my bone and try to talk to you with the bone in my mouth when you get home. I love all humans and haven't met a single one I don't like yet. I am a really good girl and I would love to stay by your side forever. I love going for car rides and cuddling on the couch watching movies. I am kennel trained, even though I can be trusted to be left out! That's the nice thing about older gals like me... I'll relax until you get home from work, but I still have a lot of love left in me! I know how to sit and stay. I am fully potty trained with no accidents since I've been at my foster home! I do pull a little on the leash, but I'm quickly learning that isn't the way to ask for more walks. I completely ignore other dogs when out and about, however if they approach and I don't know them, I will try to protect us. I am a good girl taking baths... I LOVE the blow dryer, and I'll cooperate when getting my teeth brushed, even though it's not my favorite thing in the world to do. My foster mom says that my biggest impropriety is that I constantly remind her that her dogs who live here need to work on their training and manners more (she assures me that it is a good thing for me though!)  Could you give me a good home?

All Ruff Start dogs and cats are spayed/neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccines, microchipped, dewormed, and on monthly flea/tick and heartworm prevention (dogs) as well as heartworm tested (dogs).

Ruff Start Rescue is a foster based rescue. Animals are located in homes throughout Minnesota. We do not have a facility where animals are kept.
