Hello! My name is Lucian and I can best be described as a big love-able doofus! Don’t let me fool you though, as I am actually smart as whip, and can figure out any food puzzle in less than a minute. I’ve had to learn, because I was on “bed-rest” which is really tough for a doggie like me. You see, I came from Texas and people call me a Hurricane Harvey dog, which I think means I’m a pretty lucky dog. I was diagnosed with heart worm though, which is a parasite that infects my heart. Don’t worry I can’t spread it to humans, and only other dogs can get it if we are all bit by the same mosquito. But the good news is, I am finished with the treatment, and am cleared to go on hikes and runs! This is good, because I certainly gained a few pounds while I was being treated.

One thing with my heartworm treatment though is that I MUST have heartworm preventative (such as Interceptor PLUS, etc.) every month. It is also good to have an up to date heart worm test every year and I may show up positive for a few more months on these tests, but that is normal. More about myself… I love humans, of ALL sizes. I do love kids too, and could definitely find my forever home with a family that has younger kids, as long as they know I might accidentally knock them over. I have shown no signs of aggression towards people at all. I do however have a fascination with small furry creatures, and really like to chase them. So I would probably be best suited for a house without cats or really small dogs. But the bigger dogs aren’t a problem, as long as we meet and get along! My foster mom really hopes I find my forever home. She says I am a pretty perfect dog, and although I love her (almost too much), I know that her house is too small for me! She wants me to find my forever home so badly, and although I will miss her, I would like that as well!
