Sometimes inner strength, hope, and a desire to Believe.....
Are the only things that separate one rescue dog's attitude from another - while they wait.
Some can be saddened, after a while and some can even seem defeated.
Herbie has been at FSSR for 5 years, now. Waiting. But he chooses to Believe.
He LOVES to be outside! And, while he runs under the bright shine of sun - playing with toys, flipping them in the air, and jumping up , like gravity does not exist to get them...... or while he dreams of it at night - He feels warm, happy, and Strong.
He LOVES the pool! And while he is in it - spinning, dunking, and splashing.....or while he dreams of it at night - His Hope floats.
He LOVES to investigate all things new and to explore! To smell the fresh green grass....... or to just pee - on each and every tree. (He always dreams of THAT at night).
Herbie has always been shy- but he LOVES the comfort, kisses, and gentle touches from the volunteers he has come to know, trust, and depend on. The JOY......of seeing one of his favorite people - is so incredibly special! If he knows you.....he will run to you, jump up and wrap his paws around you, and give you a hug (that stands still).
He looks into your eyes...... and tells you, "I still Believe.".
