Tansey is a very sweet dog, gentle and quiet. Have not heard her bark once since her arrival from the Shelter. Tansey is completely house trained not one accident in the home and will cry if she needs to go out or sit by the back door which is her sign to tell you she need to go out to potty.. She is crate trained but will chew blankets in the crate when left for a while.
She appears to have had an over disciplined life style and needs some work on building her confidence. She is quiet I have not heard her bark at all, that is not saying she won't in the future though, because she is still coming out of her shell right now.
She does great with our other dogs that she lives with and she likes to know they are around but pays no attention to them. She is smart and gentle and will be a wonderful dog once we get her confidence built. She can be destructive if she is left out of her kennel whilst you are gone so an owner that can work with her is what will be best for Tansey. She needs to be crated when you leave her for work. An owner that does not work and leave her long hours is probably what she needs and having another dog or car around would be good for her. I have not tested her with cats but my instincts tell me that she would be fine with them. She has no aggression towards humans or dogs and wants so much to be loved by you.
We are working with her on the advice from Secondhand Hounds Co-coordinator to practice consent making it her choice to come to you. Tansey needs to decide that it is ok to come to you so she can start trusting more and that people are good.
If you are a patient owner and willing to do some confidence building with Tansey she will reward you so much.
